How Does Glow Sticks Work?

Glow sticks contain two (2) liquid portions; Part A and Part B. These two (2) liquid parts are separated by a tiny glass that floats in the sealed glow stick. When you activate a glow stick by twisting it slightly, you are actually breaking the glass ampoule inside that mixes both liquid parts together and creates a reaction called "chemiluminescence". This is a safe process and does not create any flames, heat or sparks.
